well... i figure that it's been about twelve hours since i put up the last deviation... so...
it's probably time for another one. a brief description of the project: it's an ongoing photo study of accidental deaths... but not in a grotesque way... i like to maintain an air of mystery to each of these pictures... (my photo teacher hated that... but... i like the viewer to make up what happened.) end description this is a selfish self-awareness : chapter two smoke inhalation in a fire. [link to chapter one] things about this picture 1. this is a friend of mine who happened to be a fireman.. and volunteered for the shoot... 2. this is film... medium format... 100Tmax on a Mamiya RZ67ProII 3. this was done in a studio. 4. framing was done digitally.  Ooo...mildly more morbid. I like the slumped position, soot covering everything. The lines on his hat make for great visual interest and pull my eyes down to his face/figure.
 -- The wallpaper and I are fighting to the death, one of us will have to go. Oscar Wilde  I like the concept, but I had issues distinguishing what it actually was at first. It all sorta blends together.
 I apologize for the fact that I'm not equipped to give detailed technical critique, but I'm not knowledgeable enough. As a writer, though, I am intensely enjoying looking at each one and processing it.

something about his face looks oddly peaceful though, which isnt what i would expect from an untimely and surely distressing death. on second thought, he's almost smirking like he has a secret, which could be part of the mystery i spose. -- :* |
